Adolescent Therapy
Adolescents have many things going on during this time in their lives. From all of the demands on them at school, to managing friendships and intimate relationships, life can feel overwhelming. Teens are also experiencing developmental growth that impacts how they interact and respond to people close to them. It also impacts the ways they are understanding themselves.
Many adolescents struggle with depression and anxiety during this time in their lives. They also struggle with being comfortable talking about those issues. Often they find it difficult to confide in their parents for a variety of reasons. Therapy provides a safe place for teens to express whatever thoughts or emotions they are experiencing and provides them with an opportunity to sort through and reflect on their experiences. As a result, they experience better understanding about themselves, a sense of validation of their reality, and relief from carrying the weight of their personal struggles .
